<strong>Field Engineer - ESEL Installation Project</strong><p><strong>Location:</strong> Nationwide (UK)<strong>Contract Type:</strong> Outside IR35<strong>Shift Pattern:</strong> Sunday-Thursday nights (out of hours)</p><strong>Overview</strong><p>We are recruiting experienced <strong>Field Engineers</strong> to support a large scale <strong>Electronic Shelf Label (ESEL) installation project</strong> across a national retail estate. The role involves out of hours installation and testing of ESEL hardware as part of a structured rollout programme </p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for engineers seeking flexible, project-based night work with competitive hourly rates and travel allowances.</p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Install and test ESEL hardware in retail store environments, following provided scripts and processes</li><li>Complete <strong>one site installation per shift</strong> as part of a field engineering team</li><li>Adhere to all onsite health & safety and operational procedures</li><li>Complete digital sign-offs and documentation accurately and on time</li><li>Use provided technical support where required</li><li>Ensure high-quality workmanship to prevent revisits due to engineer error</li></ul><strong>Shift Details</strong><ul><li><strong>Working Days:</strong> Sunday to Thursday (no weekends or bank holidays)</li><li><strong>Shift Times:</strong> Typically from store closing (8-9pm, earlier on Sundays)</li><li><strong>Shift Length:</strong> Up to 8 hours onsite per shift</li><li><strong>Arrival:</strong> 15-30 minutes prior to store closing</li><li><strong>Training:</strong> First two shifts classed as training (unless already experienced on this project)</li><li><strong>Work Pattern:</strong> Allocated as per schedule; work not guaranteed every day</li></ul><strong>Rates & Allowances (Outside IR35)</strong><ul><li><strong>Training Rate:</strong> £17.50 per hour</li><li><strong>Standard Rate:</strong> £22.50 per hour</li><li><strong>Approved Overtime (onsite):</strong> £22.50 per hour<strong><strong></strong></strong></li><li><strong><strong></strong></strong><p><strong>Travel time:</strong> Up to 2 hours per shift included. Any travel beyond this is claimable at £13 per hour </p></li><li><strong>Mileage:</strong></li><li><ul><li>Up to 75 miles per shift included</li><li>Additional mileage paid at £0.33 per mile</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Standard rate includes per shift:</strong></p><ul><li>Up to 8 hours onsite</li><li>Up to 2 hours travel time (1 hour each way)</li><li>Parking, ULEZ, tolls, and congestion charges (where applicable to site location)</li></ul><strong>Engineer Requirements</strong><ul><li>Experienced field engineer with <strong>script-based IT, EPOS, ATM, or similar project experience</strong></li><li>Basic fault-finding capability</li><li>Comfortable working night shifts in live retail environments</li><li>Own vehicle (any type/size acceptable)</li><li>Own laptop, tablet, or smartphone suitable for digital sign-offs</li><li>Must supply own standard engineering tools, including:<ul><li>General toolkit and screwdrivers</li><li>Adjustable spanners</li><li>42mm plastic pipe cutters</li><li>Knee protection (pads or cushioning)</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>No formal accreditation required.</strong> Previous ESEL experience is advantageous but not essential.</p><strong>Provided on the Project</strong><ul><li>Installation scripts and guidance</li><li>Onsite training and induction (where agreed)</li><li>Access to technical support</li><li>Equipment for label scanning</li><li>Site access identification or authority documentation</li></ul><strong>Additional Information</strong><ul><li>Engagement is <strong>Outside IR35</strong></li><li>Scheduling is centrally controlled</li><li>Overnight stays arranged on a case by case basis if approved</li><li>Re-visits required due to engineer fault are unpaid</li><li>Timesheets and expenses must be submitted by <strong>10am on Mondays</strong></li></ul><strong>Apply Now</strong><p>If you're a reliable, experienced field engineer looking for night work on a nationwide retail technology rollout, we'd like to hear from you.</p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?50N8xKcU4F1zZ%2fippgrsSCYb8bD0%2bqj6d" width="0" height="0" />
