<p>Job Title: DP Accountant - Finance<br /> Location: Belfast<br /> Salary: £24.59 per hour (£47,304 per annum equivalent)<br /> Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm<br /> Duration: Temporary contract until the end of August 2026<br /> Start Date: ASAP</p> <p> </p> <p>About the Role: On behalf of our client, Apple Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Financial Reporting DP Accountant to join a busy Finance team within a public sector organisation based in Newforge.</p> <p> </p> <p>The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality financial reporting, governance, and management accounting services, ensuring compliance with HM Treasury and Department of Finance guidance and supporting effective financial management across the organisation.</p> <p> </p> <p>Key Responsibilities: • Preparation of Annual Reports and Accounts in accordance with HM Treasury and Department of Finance guidance, incorporating IFRS<br /> • Liaising with internal and external auditors, including the Northern Ireland Audit Office<br /> • Analysis and interpretation of financial data<br /> • Production of monthly and quarterly management accounting information<br /> • Preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for senior management and stakeholders<br /> • Management of financial processing functions<br /> • Providing professional advice and guidance to support the safeguarding of public funds and ensure regularity, probity, and value for money<br /> • Supporting the establishment and maintenance of internal control and governance frameworks<br /> • Assisting in the development and implementation of financial systems and reporting processes<br /> • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of public expenditure planning, monitoring, control, and accountability systems<br /> • Promoting high standards of accountability, integrity, and financial governance<br /> • Leading, managing, and motivating staff to support continuous improvement across the Finance function<br /> • Carrying out additional duties as required by management appropriate to the role</p> <p> </p> <p>Essential Criteria: • Successfully passed final professional examinations and be a full current member of one of the following professional accounting bodies:</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Chartered Accountants Ireland <p> </p> The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland <p> </p> The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales <p> </p> The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) <p> </p> The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) <p> </p> The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) <p> </p> The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland <p> </p> </li> </ul> <p>• Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification practical experience gained within the last 7 years in a finance-related environment<br /> • Strong financial reporting and analytical skills<br /> • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities<br /> • Strong organisational and time management skills<br /> • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively</p> <p> </p> <p>Desirable Criteria: • Previous experience within a public sector finance environment<br /> • Experience working with IFRS and public sector financial reporting requirements<br /> • Experience supporting audit and governance processes</p> <p> </p> <p>Additional Information: • Full-time temporary agency assignment<br /> • Based in Newforge<br /> • Immediate start available<br /> • Opportunity to work within a professional public sector finance environment</p> <p> </p> <p>How to Apply: If you wish to apply or would like more information, please email your CV in Microsoft Word format to Caroline at </p> <p> </p> <p>Applicants must ensure their CV is accurate and up to date, including full employment history, qualifications, and contact details.</p> <p> </p> <p>Only applicants meeting the essential criteria will be considered.</p> <p> </p> <p>Apple Recruitment Services is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.</p> <p> </p> <p>Apple Recruitment Services is an Equal Opportunities Employer.</p> <p> </p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?8BtgX7rrSYHXAtHLXjZ4znoixsDwl47uy" width="0" height="0" />
