Dayshift HGV Mechanic <br /><br />H&R Gray Haulage Ltd is a family run business based in Throsk that has been providing professional and reliable road haulage services for over 35 years in Scotland and the UK.<br /><br />This is an exciting opportunity within our growing Workshop department to join a small and busy team. As a Dayshift HGV Mechanic your work will be varied, primarily responsible for servicing and maintenance of our own fleet and customer vehicles and trailers.<br /><br /> Responsibilities: <br /><br /> Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles & trailers to VOSA standard.<br /> Diagnosing and rectifying all types of HGV faults.<br /> Ensuring all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that the relevant precautions are taken whilst on the premises.<br /> Liaising with the parts department to attain correct parts.<br /> Ensuring health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to.<br /> Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.<br /> Carrying out routine maintenance on commercial vehicles.<br /> Ensuring appropriate clockings are made and all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner.<br /> Maintaining a thorough and current product knowledge.<br /><br /> Candidate Requirements: <br /><br /> Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles.<br /> Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines.<br /> Ability to work under pressure.<br /> Ability to actively seek solutions to problems.<br /> Ability to work as part of a team.<br /> Good verbal communication skills.<br /> Excellent customer care skills.<br /> Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.<br /> Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.<br /> LGV/HGV/PCV licence an advantage.<br /><br />Hours: 40.00 hours per week plus overtime.<br /><br />Shift Patterns:<br /><br />Monday - Friday 07.00am - 4.00pm<br /><br />Every second Saturday 07.00am - 12 noon<br /><br />Salary: Dependent on experience & package<br /><br />Job Types: Full-time, Permanent<br /><br />Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year<br /><br />Benefits:<br /> Company pension<br /> Free parking<br /> On-site parking<br /> Private medical insurance<br><br>Licence/Certification:<br /> Driving Licence (required)<br /><br />Work Location: In person<img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?50N8xKcU4F3UgeIBLdz4ixUsnA5Pj2P2d" width="0" height="0" />
