Control Panel / Electrical Design Engineer

<p>An established and growing engineering business is looking to strengthen its in-house design capability with an experienced Control Panel Draughtsman. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of control panel designs from concept through to manufacture, working closely with engineers, panel builders, and project teams.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Producing <strong>electrical control panel drawings</strong> including: <ul><li>Schematics</li><li>General arrangement layouts</li><li>Wiring and termination diagrams</li></ul></li><li>Ensuring drawings comply with <strong>BS/IEC standards</strong> and relevant regulations</li><li>Working closely with panel builders to resolve design queries and improve build efficiency</li><li>Updating and maintaining drawing packs throughout the project lifecycle</li><li>Supporting engineers and project teams with technical documentation</li><li>Incorporating client specifications and change requests accurately and efficiently</li></ul><p><strong>Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience as a <strong>Control Panel Draughtsman / Electrical Draughtsperson</strong></li><li>Strong working knowledge of <strong>electrical control systems</strong></li><li>Proficiency in <strong>AutoCAD Electrical</strong> (or AutoCAD with electrical experience)</li><li>Understanding of: <ul><li>Control panel layouts</li><li>Wiring practices</li><li>Industrial automation components</li></ul></li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple drawing packages</li><li>High attention to detail - mistakes cost time, you understand that</li><li>Experience within <strong>industrial automation, manufacturing, or process environments</strong></li><li>Familiarity with PLC / control system documentation</li><li>Exposure to ATEX, IEC 61439, or machinery safety standards</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Details:</strong></p><ul><li>Stable, long-term role with a respected engineering business</li><li>Varied, technically interesting projects</li><li>Close-knit engineering team with real input into designs</li><li>Competitive salary with room to progress as the business grows</li></ul><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?p4QwZ6nBSKn%2fWLOPIxqZxSzrsdEEc7Dhe" width="0" height="0" />
