<p>Morson are exclusively recruiting for CNC Machinists on behalf of our client GKN Aerospace ().</p><p>There are<strong> night shift</strong> roles available at GKN Filton and <strong>day shift</strong> roles at GKN Western Approach (near Severn Beach). All roles are 6 months initially, but highly likely to be long-term rolling contract/temporary to permanent. </p><p><strong>Candidates MUST have LEVEL 3 qualifications - (include NVQ or City & Guilds) or apprenticeship - proof of certs will be required. <u>If you do not have Level 3 qualifications or apprenticeship and no prior CNC experience, the client will not be able to consider you</u></strong></p><p><strong><em>Rate(s):</em></strong></p><p><strong>NIGHT SHIFT - FILTON</strong></p><p><strong>£26.77 PAYE</strong> per hour standard Nights, any overtime paid at the following:</p><p>Sunday to Friday overtime paid at £30.65 per hour</p><p>Saturday overtime paid at £34.14 per hour</p><p>When Stamp Obtained (usually after 12 weeks) standard rate increases to £27.86 per hour, any overtime paid at the following:</p><p>Overtime Sunday to Friday £31.90 per hour</p><p>Saturday Overtime £35.53 per hour</p><p><em>Hours:</em></p><p>The role involves working Nightshift which would involve working on the following shift pattern:</p><p><strong>First 17 weeks</strong> - Sunday, Monday & Tuesday (7pm-7am each day)</p><p><strong>Second 17 Weeks</strong> - Wednesday, Thursday Friday (7pm-7am each day)</p><p><strong>Rotated every 17 weeks</strong></p><p>Candidates will be working Core Days for the first few weeks before going onto night shift</p><p><strong>DAY SHIFT - WESTERN APPROACH</strong></p><p>7 day fortnight pattern (see info below) -<strong> £23.59 PAYE</strong> per hour standard rising to £24.64 PAYE per hour when training stamp approved (approx 12 weeks)</p><p>Overtime during the week paid at £27.65 PAYE rising to £28.88 PAYE when training stamp approved</p><p>Overtime during the weekend paid at £36.86 PAYE rising to £38.50 when training stamp approved</p><p><strong>Shift Pattern </strong></p><p>7 day fortnight shift pattern -40.25 hours per week (average over 2 weeks) Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 06:00-18:00 Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday - 06:00-18:00 (occasionally 07:00-19:00)</p><p><strong>Core Days</strong> Training Period (1-2 weeks): Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:00 </p><p><strong>Purpose:</strong></p><p>To manufacture aircraft components from composite materials, using the latest technology CNC machinery which meets aircraft design drawing requirements.</p><p><strong>Duties:</strong></p><p>Manufacture, machine, measure, test and assemble aircraft components from composite and metallic materials, up to 15m in length, which are fully traceable, using automated machinery.</p><p>Use of CNC rout machines, 5 Axis Zimmerman drilling and fettling gantry machines and jigged vacuum fixtures</p><p>Machining of parts aircraft parts to drawing specification</p><p>Checking of parts using conventional equipment including height gauges</p><p>Micrometers, vernier, calipers to meet required specification</p><p>Working to engineering drawings</p><p>Manufacturing to defined high tolerances</p><p>Manually or mechanically move components to ensure the effective flow of production within the cell</p><p>Use of Renishaw probing equipment.</p><p>Use of cutter tool setting equipment.</p><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills & Experience:</strong></p><p>Apprenticeship or equivalent (Modern Apprenticeship will have NVQ 3) or 4 Year Apprenticeship City and Guilds Level 3 or higher</p><p> If EU Country Certs tend to be 3 Year or longer in a Technical College with the third Year completed on a shop floor (Certs must have an English Translation prior to submission to the Client) </p><p>Experience of loading and setting fixtures and tooling in CNC machines.</p><p>Ideally with Siemens 840D control system experience.</p><p>Ideally have 3 - 5 years' experience on either CNC Machines.</p><p>Understanding of aircraft drawings, limits and quality systems</p><p>Self-motivated and with good communication skills.</p><p>Able to work in small teams led by Process Team Leaders.</p><p>Served a recognised apprenticeship or relevant experience in composite or aircraft environment.</p><p>Embrace lean manufacture, waste reduction and improvement initiatives</p><p>Work in accordance with Health & Safety requirements, including relevant risk, COSHH and safe systems of work.</p><p>Undertake training in advanced composite manufacturing techniques & processes.</p><p><strong>What these roles offer </strong></p><p>Long term ongoing contracts Work with modern aerospace CNC machinery Competitive pay with strong overtime rates Training and development opportunities Opportunity to contribute to major global aircraft programmes</p><p></p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?NNcQ65VzYn184M5J7ZwGWh5lx1XNDxxKz" width="0" height="0" />
