<p></p><strong>Building Project Manager - Newham </strong><p><strong> Hybrid: 2-3 days per week at Newham Dockside</strong><strong> 6-Month Contract</strong><strong> 36 hours per week Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM</strong></p><p><strong>£500 DAILY UMBRELLA</strong></p><p>Newham is seeking an experienced <strong>Building Project Manager</strong> to oversee multiple capital programme schemes from inception to completion. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver high-impact projects that directly support the borough's growth and infrastructure, all within a supportive and collaborative environment.</p><strong> Key Responsibilities</strong><strong>Project & Programme Delivery</strong><ul><li>Manage the delivery of <strong>multiple capital programme schemes</strong> simultaneously-ensuring projects are completed <strong>on schedule</strong>, <strong>within budget</strong>, and to <strong>agreed quality standards</strong> using the Council's project management tools.</li><li>Lead projects through the <strong>capital programme development and approvals process</strong>, working closely with clients, sponsors, and key stakeholders.</li></ul><strong>Leadership & Stakeholder Management</strong><ul><li>Lead and manage dedicated <strong>project teams</strong>, working alongside Property Procurement and Technical Leads to ensure the chosen procurement route delivers the project as agreed.</li><li>Collaborate effectively across departments and external partners, proactively resolving issues to maintain project momentum.</li></ul><strong>Budget & Financial Oversight</strong><ul><li>Take full responsibility for <strong>budget management</strong> across all assigned projects, including financial reporting, forecasting, and ensuring accuracy within the Council's <strong>PBCS system</strong>.</li><li>Provide financial updates to senior stakeholders including the Assistant Director (Projects - Assets), Head of Project Management, Senior Project Manager, and Project Board.</li></ul><strong>Project Governance & Reporting</strong><ul><li>Prepare high-quality <strong>project briefs</strong>, defining objectives and supplying all required project information.</li><li>Create, maintain, and monitor all key project management documents throughoutthelifecycle, including:<ul><li>Risk & issue logs</li><li>Project plans</li><li>RACI tables</li><li>Communications plans</li><li>Project trackers</li><li>Budget spreadsheets</li></ul></li><li>Prepare and present <strong>Gateway Review Group reports</strong>, attending panels with Procurement and Technical Leads.</li><li>Produce accurate, timely <strong>governance reports</strong>, ensuring correct sign-off processes are followed to prevent slippage.</li></ul><strong>Value for Money</strong><ul><li>Work closely with the Property Procurement Lead to secure <strong>best value</strong> on every project and ensure compliance with procurement standards.</li></ul><strong> About You</strong><p>You'll be a strong fit if you bring:</p><p> Proven experience delivering building-related or capital projects Strong report-writing and governance documentation skills Solid budget management and forecasting experience Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities A proactive, structured approach with attention to detail</p><p></p><p>Adecco acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
