Stores & Despatch Operative

Our client are looking currently recruiting for a hardworking and reliable Stores & Despatch Operative to join a busy and fast-paced stores and despatch department. This is a hands-on role that plays a key part in ensuring materials move efficiently through the production process and customer orders are prepared and dispatched accurately and on time. The successful candidate will thrive in a high-volume environment, demonstrate strong organisational skills, and be comfortable managing multiple priorities throughout the day. Previous experience within warehouse, manufacturing, engineering, or logistics environments would be highly advantageous. Main Duties & Responsibilities * Managing incoming and outgoing deliveries efficiently within a fast-paced environment * Booking stock in and out using internal systems and maintaining accurate records * Carrying out regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy * Performing final visual inspections on machined components prior to dispatch * Packing finished goods securely and preparing shipments for customers * Liaising with suppliers regarding component deliveries and order coordination * Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the stores and despatch operation * Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment * Assisting colleagues and supporting operational demands during peak periods Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate will demonstrate: * Ability to work at pace while maintaining a high level of accuracy * Good IT and computer literacy, including confidence using internal systems/databases * Strong attention to detail and organisational skills * Excellent communication skills and a team-focused attitude * Flexibility and adaptability in a changing production environment * A positive and proactive approach to work * Previous warehouse, stores, manufacturing, engineering, or despatch experience preferred Benefits * Comprehensive on-the-job training provided * Opportunity to secure a permanent contract following a successful probationary period * Consistent daytime working hours * Excellent work-life balance with a 13:00 finish every Friday * Supportive and team-oriented working environment Additional Information This position would suit energetic and dependable individuals who enjoy working in a busy shop-floor environment and are confident handling high workloads while maintaining quality and efficiency standards
