Site Engineer – Power / Transformers (HV Field Service)
Location: Leeds (UK & Europe Travel)

We are working with a well-established engineering business who are looking for a Site Engineer to join their field services team supporting power and distribution transformers.
This is a field-based role covering the UK and Europe, involving fault finding, maintenance, repair and testing of HV electrical equipment in operational site environments.
The Role
You will attend customer sites to inspect, diagnose and repair faults on power transformers and associated HV systems. Work is varied and often reactive, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on site.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend site to diagnose and repair transformer faults
* Carry out mechanical and electrical fault finding and maintenance
* Investigate issues such as oil leaks, electrical faults and component failures
* Support testing activities (IR, HV withstand, functional checks)
* Replace and repair components including relays, gaskets, cooling systems and accessories
* Complete detailed service reports, RAMS and job documentation
* Work independently on customer sites when required
* Travel across the UK and Europe as part of the role
Skills & Experience Required
* Background in electrical site engineering, HV systems, transformers, substation maintenance or similar field-based engineering work
* Strong fault-finding experience in mechanical/electrical systems
* Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
* Experience working in site-based engineering environments
* Strong understanding of health & safety and RAMS
* ECS card (essential)
* Full UK driving licence (essential)
Desirable Experience
* Transformer commissioning or HV testing experience
* Substation or utility maintenance background
* Experience with insulation resistance (IR) or HV testing
* Lifting, slinging, crane or FLT certifications
