Senior Civil Engineer | Birmingham

Our busy client is an ambitious and growing consultancy based in Birmingham, providing expert transport planning and highways engineering services across the UK. They work on a diverse portfolio of projects, from residential and commercial developments to major infrastructure schemes, delivering practical, high-quality solutions for our clients. The Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join their expanding team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of development and transport infrastructure projects, contributing from concept design through to detailed delivery. Responsibilities Design highways and infrastructure schemes, including junctions, access arrangements, and drainage layouts Prepare technical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD / Civils 3D Undertake feasibility studies, site assessments, and design calculations Support the preparation of Transport Assessments and technical reports Liaise with clients, local authorities, and project stakeholders Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g. DMRB, Manual for Streets, local authority guidance) Assist with project delivery, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met About You Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline) Experience in highways / infrastructure / development engineering Working knowledge of UK design standards and approval processes Proficient in AutoCAD; Civils 3D experience desirable Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Working towards professional accreditation (ICE or similar) is desirable What We Offer Competitive salary (dependent on experience) Exposure to a wide range of projects and clients Support with professional development and chartership Friendly, collaborative working environment Flexible / hybrid working options Company pension and benefits package
