TimePlan Education is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support a range of primary schools. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced support staff who are passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within supportive and inclusive school environments.
The Role
Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging positively in classroom activities
Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies
Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence within the classroom and wider school environment
Adapt learning resources and activities to meet individual student needs
Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and parents where appropriate
Build positive relationships with students, encouraging confidence, communication, and social development
Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs in a school or care setting
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils with additional needsStrong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
Understanding of SEN strategies and behaviour management techniques
Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to different school environments and student needsA genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing
