Mechanical Lead Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Lead Engineer Location: Lime Street, London Salary: Up to £53,000 + Benefits The Role We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead Engineer to oversee mechanical maintenance operations at a prestigious commercial site near Lime Street. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems are maintained to the highest standard while overseeing a team of 3 engineers delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across the site. Key Responsibilities * Lead, supervise, and support a team of 3 engineers on-site * Oversee daily mechanical maintenance operations across the building * Carry out and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works * Maintain and fault-find on mechanical systems including HVAC, pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, pipework, and associated plant * Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and site regulations * Coordinate subcontractors and specialist service providers on-site * Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for improvement * Complete maintenance reports, logbooks, and documentation accurately * Act as a key point of contact for the client and site management team About You * Strong mechanical engineering background within commercial building maintenance * Relevant mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent) * Previous experience leading or supervising engineering teams * Good knowledge of HVAC and building services systems * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills * Professional and client-facing approach * Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively What’s on Offer * Salary up to £53,000 * Opportunity to work at a high-profile London site * Career progression and ongoing training
