Homeless Support Officer - Needed ASAP £15-£16 per hour * 37 hours per week * Full‑time * Enhanced DBS required Rolling 6‑week rota * Lone working involved Your new companyYou'll be joining a dedicated Housing Association providing safe, stable accommodation and personalised support to individuals experiencing homelessness. The service operates across a single scheme made up of HMO units and self‑contained flats, offering both on‑site and off‑site support. You'll be part of a tight, resilient team of five (usually six) who work collaboratively to manage risk, respond to crisis situations and help residents move towards independence. Your new roleAs a Homeless Support Officer, you'll deliver day‑to‑day housing support, crisis management and safeguarding‑led interventions for residents with a range of complex needs.Your responsibilities will include: Lone working across the scheme and the community Managing crisis situations and escalating risks appropriately Supporting residents with tenancy sustainment, budgeting, wellbeing and life skills Completing welfare checks, safety checks and accurate case notes Working with partner agencies to secure positive outcomes Maintaining professional boundaries and promoting independenceRota pattern (6‑week rolling): Weeks 1-5: 8am-4pm 2pm-10pm Week 6 (1 in 6 weekends): Mon-Fri: 10am-5:30pm (Thursday = rest day) Sat & Sun: 9am-7pmWhat you'll need to succeed Experience supporting vulnerable adults, ideally within homelessness, supported housing or community‑based services Confidence with lone working, crisis response and risk management Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with residents A resilient, calm and solution‑focused approach Ability to work as part of a rota‑based team Enhanced DBS What you'll get in return £15-£16 per hour (PAYE or Umbrella) A stable 37‑hour week on a predictable rota Support from an experienced, friendly teamWhat you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
