<p><p> Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Transport Administrator for our client based in South Lanarkshire. </p><p></p><p> This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to join a busy transport team within a growing business. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily transport operations, ensuring schedules, compliance, and administration tasks are completed efficiently. Previous transport experience would be advantageous; however, full training and long-term career progression opportunities will be provided, with a clear pathway towards a future Transport Manager position. </p><p></p><p><b> Role Overview </b></p><p> The Transport Administrator will support the smooth day-to-day coordination of transport operations, assisting with scheduling, driver communication, compliance administration, and vehicle records. This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment. </p><p></p><p><b> Key Responsibilities </b></p><ul><li> Assist with planning and scheduling daily transport operations </li><li> Allocate vehicles, drivers, and equipment efficiently </li><li> Monitor transport activity and update internal systems accurately </li><li> Communicate delays, changes, and updates to drivers and the wider team </li><li> Act as a first point of contact for driver queries and support </li><li> Maintain driver and vehicle compliance records </li><li> Monitor vehicle checks, defect reports, and driver hours </li><li> Support timesheet processing and ensure job completion information is accurate </li><li> Coordinate vehicle maintenance bookings and track downtime </li><li> Monitor telematics systems and report discrepancies where required </li><li> Assist with reporting and preparation for audits </li><li> Support the wider transport team with administrative duties as required </li></ul><p></p><p><b> Skills & Experience </b></p><ul><li> Previous administration experience is essential </li><li> Experience within transport or logistics would be advantageous </li><li> Strong organisational and time management skills </li><li> Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal </li><li> Confident IT and systems user </li><li> Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage multiple tasks </li><li> Proactive and team-focused approach </li><li> High level of accuracy and attention to detail </li></ul><p></p><p><b> Offering </b></p><ul><li> Starting salary DOE </li><li> Full-time position – 37.5 hours per week </li><li> Working hours of either 8am – 4pm or 9am – 5pm </li><li> Employee discounts </li><li> Pension scheme </li><li> Employee Assistance Programme </li><li> Employee rewards scheme </li><li> Life cover </li><li> Ongoing training and development </li><li> Excellent long-term progression opportunities within the transport team, with the potential to progress into a Transport Manager role over time. </li></ul>
