<p><p><b> Software Developer </b></p><p><b>6-month contract </b></p><p><b> Edinburgh </b></p><p><b> Hybrid </b></p><p><b> Outside IR35</b></p><p><b>480 per day </b></p><p> </p><p> Harvey Nash's public sector client is currently looking to recruit a Developer to join their team based in Edinburgh for an initial 6-month period. </p><p><b> Description: </b></p><p> An experienced developer with solid commercial AWS development experience is required to accelerate a move from legacy on-prem registers to new cloud-native solutions. The focus of the work will be the collaborative development of new serverless micro-services using AWS Lambda functions and TypeScript/JavaScript. </p><p><b> Essential Skills: </b></p><ul><li> AWS including: <ul><li> CDK </li><li> Serverless (Lambda)</li><li> S3</li><li> API Gateway </li><li> CloudFormation </li></ul></li><li> TypeScript (or modern JavaScript)</li><li> Making excellent quality software with other people. </li><li> Working with business stakeholders, to understand the context, and to focus on delivering value. </li><li> Design and implementation of solutions using a service-based and serverless architecture. </li><li> Excellent collaboration, communication and teamwork skills </li><li> Experience working in the Agile delivery models - such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks. </li><li> Developing within GDS or Digital First (or similar) quality standards </li><li> Cloud monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools and processes </li><li> Formal XP engineering techniques, including Pair Programming and Test-Driven Development </li><li> Defining infrastructure-as-code </li></ul><p><b> Desirable Skills: </b></p><ul><li> Human-centred, research-driven, inclusive design practices </li><li> Testing tools and frameworks, e.g. Cypress </li><li> Use of UI pattern libraries to achieve consistent, tested and high-quality interfaces </li></ul>
