<p><p> Project Manager (Heavy Civils)</p><p> Permanent </p><p> Location: Scotland </p><p> Salary: £65,000-£85,000 DOE + tax-free subsistence + benefits package </p><p> Ref: GR1495</p><p> Gibson Recruitment Limited </p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><b> Job Description: </b></p><p></p><p> Multi-national Civil Engineering contractor who, due to the award of prestigious new contracts in Scotland, have a requirement for a PROJECT MANAGER to join their team. </p><p></p><p> The business typically undertakes large scale infrastructure works, and this opportunity presents a perfect time to join as they expand their operations in Scotland. </p><p></p><p> Applicants MUST be based in Scotland and, due to the nature of work, be willing to work away from home (within Scotland) when necessary. </p><p> </p><p> Accommodation & tax-free subsistence, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, is on offer on top of the salary. </p><p></p><p><b> </b></p><p><b> </b></p><p><b> Role & Responsibilities: </b></p><p></p><p>· Oversee the development and construction of projects from conception to completion, ensuring progress and profitability are on target throughout. </p><p>· Identify and Manage risk and opportunity effectively throughout the project. </p><p>· In collaboration with Commercial and Senior Leadership Teams, lead in the selection and effective management of the supply chain, ensuring they can deliver to our expectations. </p><p>· Ensure adequate resourcing, materials and plans are available as required, to avoid delays. </p><p>· Contribute to progress reports for Senior Leadership, ensuring all information is clear and accurate. </p><p>· Make decisions in high pressure or times of crisis that have the least negative impact. </p><p>· Take responsibility for health, safety, environment, and quality matters by ensuring compliance with regulations, implementing policies and procedures across operations, promoting site safety, and driving continuous improvement. </p><p>· Manage project quality daily, ensuring work is delivered to the highest standard and in line with specifications and best practice, and record in accordance with the Quality Management Plan. </p><p>· Keep clear records of site activities throughout the project, for example, key milestones, permits, authorisations, RAMS, personnel onsite, Toolbox Talks and any issues raised/identified. </p><p>· Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, statutory authorities, external bodies and inhouse departments. </p><p>· Represent the company at progress meetings and other forums, answering queries and receiving feedback in a professional manner. </p><p>· Be a point of contact for the client on site, meeting with or liaising with them as requested. </p><p>· With support from the commercial team, avoid potential contractual disputes, managing any disputes that do arise in an appropriate manner, achieving the best possible result. </p><p>· Provide clear leadership and direction to internal staff, subcontractors, consultants, and supply chain partners, promoting a collaborative working environment. </p><p>· Lead by example, ensuring processes are followed and technology is utilised where possible for efficiency. </p><p>· Address concerns, risks, and underperformance promptly, ensuring timely and appropriate </p><p></p><p></p><p><b> </b></p><p><b> What You’ll Need to Succeed: </b></p><p></p><p>· Substantial experience as a Project Manager within a Civil Engineering environment </p><p>· A degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or related subject </p><p>· Proven Track record of leading complex Civil Engineering Projects </p><p>· Experience of leading, managing, and motivating project teams in demanding environments </p><p>· Ability to read and understand Construction drawings, Contract Documents, and Specifications </p><p>· A good understanding of elements necessary to deliver effective supply chain management and support across the organisation. </p><p>· Good management skills, and the ability to motivate employees to achieve high standards of compliance. </p><p>· Ability to monitor performance and intervene appropriately to ensure targets are achieved and exceeded. </p><p>· A strong communicator, comfortable interfacing with senior executives and external clients </p><p>· Strong IT literacy, including MS Office and Management Systems </p><p>· Full Valid Driving License, which permits driving in the UK. </p><p></p><p></p><p> It would also be desirable to: </p><p></p><p>· Achieved or be working towards professional membership with an appropriate organisation (for example ICE/CIOB)</p><p>· Nebosh Qualification </p><p>· Experience on marine works </p><p></p><p></p><p><b>
