Innovation drives everything we do, and we’re continually investing in the future of digital engineering. </p><p></p><p><b> The Opportunity </b></p><p> We are looking for <b> experienced PCS7/Neo Automation Engineers </b> to join our Energy team and lead the delivery of complex control system projects across the <b> renewable power generation and energy storage sectors </b> . </p><p> This role is ideal for engineers with <b> deep Siemens PCS7/Neo expertise </b> , strong technical leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high‑quality automation solutions. You will guide projects through the full lifecycle from concept and design to software development, testing, commissioning and client handover. </p><p> If you thrive on solving complex automation challenges and want to work on real‑world energy systems, this is a role where your expertise will truly shine. </p><p></p><p><b> Key Responsibilities </b></p><ul><li> Lead software design, development and implementation for <b> PCS7/Neo‑based control systems </b> . </li><li> Produce high‑quality FDS, SDS, detailed design documents and test specifications. </li><li> Develop software using IEC 61131 languages (Ladder, FBD, SFC, Structured Text). </li><li> Drive internal and customer FATs, ensuring robust and compliant solutions. </li><li> Provide technical leadership, reviewing engineering work produced by others. </li><li> Mentor and support junior engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing. </li><li> Work closely with Project Managers to deliver projects across the full lifecycle. </li><li> Support site commissioning, testing and client engagement when required. </li></ul><p></p><p><b>✔ Essential PCS7/Neo Expertise </b></p><ul><li><b>5+ years’ hands‑on experience with Siemens PCS7/Neo </b> , including: </li><li> Advanced Process Library (APL)</li><li> Control Module Types (CMT)</li><li> Sequential Function Charts (SFC)</li><li> OS icon/faceplate development </li><li> Strong experience producing PCS7/Neo design documentation and test specifications. </li><li> Proven ability to lead PCS7/Neo software development and integration activities. </li><li> Experience performing FATs and reviewing PCS7/Neo engineering deliverables. </li><li> Strong understanding of project lifecycle and QA processes. </li></ul><p></p><p><b>✔ Additional Required Experience </b></p><ul><li>5+ years’ experience with at least one additional PLC platform: </li><li> Siemens TIA Portal (S7)</li><li> Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix (Studio 5000)</li><li> Schneider M580/M340 (EcoStruxure Control Expert)</li><li>5+ years’ experience with at least one SCADA platform (Zenon, WinCC, FactoryTalk View SE, Panorama, ArchestrA, etc.). </li><li> Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel. </li></ul><p></p><p><b>✨ Desirable High‑Level Skills </b></p><ul><li> Advanced PCS7 capabilities: Industry Library, F‑Systems/Safety Matrix, SCL, Bulk Engineering, S7‑410 with ET200SP HA, Plant Device Manager. </li><li> Experience with renewable power generation control systems. </li><li> Closed‑loop control design and loop tuning. </li><li> Safety systems to IEC 61508/61511 (certification beneficial). </li><li> Simulation tools (SIMIT, PICS, WinMOD). </li><li> Industrial communication protocols (Profibus/Profinet, Modbus, IEC 104, IEC 61850, DNP3). </li><li> Cyber‑secure system delivery (IEC 62443). </li><li> Virtualisation (VMWare/HyperV) and Windows Server configuration. </li><li> Network switch/firewall configuration. </li></ul><p></p><p><b> What We Offer </b></p><ul><li>28 days holiday + bank holidays </li><li> Option to buy 5 additional days </li><li> Flexible working </li><li> Pension scheme </li><li> Life assurance </li><li> Private healthcare </li><li> Lifestyle screening </li><li> Salary sacrifice schemes </li><li> Mental health support </li><li> Cycle to work & green car schemes </li><li> Support toward professional registration (IEng/CEng) + paid membership fees </li></ul><p></p><p><b> Interested?</b></p><p> Apply directly via LinkedIn or email your CV and cover letter to <b> hr@capula.com </b> , quoting the job reference number. </p>
