<p><p> Quantity Surveyor (NEC)</p><p> Permanent </p><p> Location: Glasgow </p><p> Salary: £45,000-£60,000 DOE </p><p> Ref: GR1482</p><p> Gibson Recruitment Limited </p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><b> Your New Employer: </b></p><p></p><p> A forward-thinking and long-standing Building Contractor typically delivering projects up to the value of £25m, across the commercial building sector. The business is anticipating a further growth in turnover over the next 12 months and as such require an additional Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a permanent basis. </p><p></p><p> The business benefits from a very healthy order book from their varied and well-established client network. </p><p></p><p> Extensive NEC experience is essential for this role. </p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><b> Your New Role: </b></p><p></p><p> This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Contractor that can offer career progression and exposure to challenging projects. </p><p></p><p> Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for advising on contract conditions and commercial matters and maintaining accurate financial control systems including, but not limited to: </p><p></p><p>· Analyse construction drawings and specifications to identify labour, material, and specialist requirements. </p><p>· Preparation of enquiry documents, sourcing and obtaining material and subcontractor quotations including final negotiations and orders. </p><p>· Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors on a regular basis to ensure budgets are not exceeded. </p><p>· Collate and coordinate information from site surveys. </p><p>· Liaise with clients to agree rates/variations and cost analysis. </p><p>· Measure works as per contract specific schedule of rates. </p><p>· Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts within the agreed timescales. </p><p>· Working closely with Management and Accounts to ensure accurate and vigorous cost management of the project to deliver a profitable outcome. </p><p>· Provide accurate and robust monthly reports for Management and Client Progress Meetings. </p><p>· Attend and participate in Site Progress Meetings. </p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><b> The successful candidate will possess: </b></p><p></p><ul><li> Degree in Quantity Surveying. </li><li> Fully conversant with NEC form of contract. </li><li> Demonstrable experience working for another Building Contractor. </li><li> IT proficient with Microsoft Packages, including Microsoft Excel. </li></ul><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><b> What to Do Now: </b></p><p></p><p> Please apply now with your most up to date CV or call Graeme on the details below for more information. </p><p></p><p> If this role is not for you but you would like to have a conversation regarding your next career move, do not hesitate to give us a call, in confidence. </p>
