Our work is defined by thoughtful design, technical rigour and a commitment to creating distinctive buildings, spaces and places that are both enduring and well made. </p><p></p><p><b> About the role </b> We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and experienced <b> Office Manager </b> to join our Edinburgh studio. This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in creating an efficient, well-considered and welcoming working environment, while providing assured support to a busy and design-focused team. </p><p></p><p> The successful candidate will be a central source of support to the Edinburgh and Glasgow Directors and senior team, helping to coordinate studio operations, refine internal processes and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. The role also includes responsibilities relating to Health & Safety and Fire Marshal duties. </p><p> Responsibilities will also include preparing correspondence, managing supplies and studio resources, coordinating travel, supporting administration, and ensuring the office remains professional, efficient and welcoming for colleagues, clients and visitors alike. </p><p></p><p><b> Bid support: </b> You will support bid activity in collaboration with the bid team and Directors across our UK studios, helping to prepare clear, well-presented submission materials using desktop publishing software such as Photoshop and InDesign. </p><p></p><p><b> Meeting and event management: </b> You will help coordinate a broad range of internal and external meetings, as well as client and staff events, ensuring they are organised with care and professionalism. </p><p> This includes managing logistics, sending invitations, booking venues, arranging transport, and providing high-quality administrative support to ensure events run smoothly and reflect the standards of the practice. </p><p></p><p><b> Social media and website support: </b> You will help maintain social media channels and support website updates, contributing to a clear and consistent presentation of the practice. </p><p></p><p><b> What we’re looking for </b></p><ul><li> A self-motivated, proactive and highly organised approach, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement. </li><li> Experience working in a professional, fast-paced environment, with tact, discretion and confidence in dealing with a wide range of contacts </li><li> Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word, PowerPoint and Excel. </li><li> Excellent general IT skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. </li><li> Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a consistently high standard. </li><li> The ability to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines. </li><li> Excellent attention to detail, including strong proofreading and document presentation skills. </li><li> Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the practice. </li><li> Experience managing diaries and arranging travel and accommodation efficiently. </li><li> A positive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to take on new responsibilities and support a growing team. </li><li> A flexible, practical and professional approach to work. </li></ul><p></p><p> No agencies please. </p><p></p><p> jmarchitects is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion across all of our offices. </p><p> If you are interested in this opportunity, we would be pleased to receive your CV. </p><p></p><p><b> Job type: </b> Full-time, permanent </p><p><b> Salary: </b> Competitive </p><p><b> Benefits </b></p><ul><li> Company events </li><li> Company pension </li><li> Life insurance </li><li> Sick pay </li></ul><p><b> Working pattern </b></p><ul><li> Monday to Friday (36 hours)</li></ul><p></p>
