<p><b> United Utilities are responsible for water and wastewater services in the Northwest of England. Their purpose is to provide great water for a stronger, greener and healthier Northwest. </b><p></p><p> We will be requiring <b> Instrumentation Field Service Engineers </b> to cover an existing workload within United Utilities, field based in various locations around the Northwest (including sites within Cheshire, Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cumbria). </p><p></p><p><b> What’s on offer: </b></p><p></p><ul><li>£38,462 salary + up to 7.5% bonus </li><li>26–30 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays </li><li> Up to 14% employer pension contribution </li><li> Company-funded healthcare plan </li><li> EV car scheme, gym discounts, and more </li><li> You’ll need a relevant apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 or above, a full UK driving license, and desirable experience in a field-based maintenance role. </li></ul><p></p><p><b> Role purpose and responsibilities: </b></p><p></p><ul><li> Are you ready to take on a hands-on role where no two days are the same? As an Instrumentation Field Service Engineer, you’ll play a key part in keeping our assets running smoothly by delivering expert maintenance and technical support to our Production team. </li><li> This role offers a great mix of independence and teamwork. You’ll need to be comfortable working solo at times, but you’ll also collaborate closely with a supportive team when needed. </li><li> Please note: This role involves working in confined spaces. You’ll also take part in an out-of-hours standby rota, so flexibility is key. </li><li> Role Accountabilities - Delivering a high-quality, efficient instrumentation maintenance and installation service that keeps everything running like clockwork. </li><li> Diagnosing and fixing faults with precision—making sure all instrumentation and systems-based equipment are operating at their best. </li><li> Taking a proactive approach to maintenance, carrying out planned tasks to prevent issues before they arise. </li><li> Championing safety by ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and internal policies. </li><li> Keeping a close eye on the numbers by managing budgets effectively and maintaining financial control. </li><li> Providing accurate, reliable asset performance and repair data to feed into our corporate systems—your insights will help drive smarter decisions. </li><li> Tackling recurring maintenance issues head-on by analysing root causes and recommending long-term solutions. </li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b> Essential skills required to be successful in the role: </b></p><p></p><ul><li> Qualifications – you must be a time served apprentice or equivalent, supported with academic qualification(s). </li><li> Full UK driving license is essential due to the mobile nature of the role. </li><li> Field service experience – Proven experience in an electrical maintenance or engineering role, ideally in a field-based or utilities environment. </li><li> Fault-finding expertise – Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation. </li><li> Knowledge of flow, level & measurable instruments – Familiarity with maintaining, calibrating and servicing equipment particularly in water, wastewater, or similar process industries. </li><li> Health & Safety awareness – Solid understanding of safe systems of work, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems. </li><li> Team player – Comfortable working independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with on-site. </li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b><em> Please apply now for further information or contact kristarae.jones@uuplc.co.uk!</em></b></p>
