<p> We are seeking a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to provide specialist assessment, treatment, and risk management for individuals with complex mental health and forensic needs in community-based settings. <p></p><p><b> Role Overview </b></p><p></p><p> This role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred psychiatric care, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with forensic histories, mental illness, and complex behavioural presentations. </p><p></p><p><b> Key Responsibilities </b></p><p></p><ul><li> Conduct forensic psychiatric assessments, risk formulation, and management planning </li><li> Provide expert clinical input on complex cases, including dual diagnosis and behavioural needs </li><li> Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across mental health and disability services </li><li> Support clinical governance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance </li><li> Contribute to maintaining standards aligned with national regulatory bodies </li><li> Provide cover for consultant colleagues as required </li></ul><p></p><p><b> Requirements </b></p><p></p><ul><li> Specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council (or eligibility)</li><li> Proven experience in forensic psychiatry </li><li> Strong skills in risk assessment and biopsychosocial formulation </li><li> Experience working with complex mental health and/or intellectual disability populations </li><li> Excellent communication, decision-making, and teamwork abilities </li></ul><p></p><p><b> Desirable </b></p><p></p><ul><li> Experience across forensic and intellectual disability services </li><li> Involvement in research, audit, or medical education </li></ul><p></p><p><b> What’s on Offer </b></p><p></p><ul><li> Competitive salary and benefits package </li><li> Support for ongoing professional development </li><li> Opportunity to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment </li><li> Exposure to diverse and complex clinical cases </li></ul><p></p>
