Senior Estimator – Civil Engineering / Utilities Infrastructure Location: North West (Hybrid)
A leading civil engineering and utility services contractor with a long-standing presence in the North West is seeking a Senior Estimator to support continued growth across major infrastructure frameworks.
The business is delivering a strong pipeline of work across utilities, highways, and aviation infrastructure, working with key clients including major water authorities, local authorities, and transport hubs. With consistent year-on-year growth, this role offers long-term progression within a stable and expanding organisation.
The Senior Estimator will play a key role in securing new business by producing accurate, competitive, and commercially sound tenders across civil engineering and utility projects.
You will be responsible for managing the full estimating lifecycle, working closely with internal teams, supply chain partners, and senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality submissions aligned with client requirements.
Prepare detailed estimates from first principles across civil engineering and infrastructure projects
Review tender documentation (ITT), specifications, and drawings to fully understand scope and risks
Develop and manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries
Contribute to bid strategy, risk assessment, and value engineering opportunities
Work collaboratively with pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams
Strong on-site background within civil engineering projects (minimum 5 years)
Proven experience pricing infrastructure projects (e.g. highways, wastewater, utilities, FRC works)
Proficiency in estimating software such as Causeway, Conquest, Candy, or similar
Strong understanding of measurement and contract frameworks:
Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
Experience working on frameworks with Multi utilities or local authorities
Exposure to major infrastructure or airport-related projects
Experience within multi-utility or civils-led contractors
Strong commercial and negotiation skills
Long-established, financially stable contractor with strong regional presence
