An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful, dynamic and supportive school team within Bankton Primary School. The school is a non-denominational primary with a current school roll of 326 primary children and 50-week ELC.
Bankton is very much at the heart of the community, and we are proud of our Family Learning Programme which is supported fully by our parents and carers.
The school is currently staffed by the Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher (vacancy), Principal Teacher and 15 Class Teachers, all of whom have an area of responsibility to allow empowerment and leadership at all levels. In the ELC there is an enthusiastic team of Early Years practitioners and Pupil Support Workers. The school is supported effectively by a team of Pupil Support Workers, who assist pupils across the school. Admin and clerical support is provided by an Administrative Assistant and part-time Clerical support. The school runs a very successful Breakfast Club. The school also benefits from a supportive and active Parent Council.
The whole staff team demonstrate strong collegiality and teamwork which maintains and enhances a positive climate for learning across the school and is driven by our strong school values.

After 1 August 2020, Education Authorities can only appoint the following categories of people as permanent Head Teachers: -
# People appointed as permanent Head Teachers of a public school, a grant-aided school or an independent school on or before 1 August 2020.
A person who has not yet achieved the Standard for Headship may be appointed as a head teacher, provided the appointment does not exceed 30 months.
