Their mission is simple yet powerful: ensuring every person feels genuinely listened to, respected and supported. </p><p> This role allows you to step away from shift work, reduce the physical demands of frontline care, and still make a significant impact — all within structured hours and a supportive, professional environment. </p><p></p><p><b><u> What You’ll Be Doing </u></b></p><p> In this role as a <b> Functional Assessor </b> , you will use your clinical expertise in a new, analytical context. You’ll carry out <b> telephone, video, in‑person and paper‑based assessments </b> to understand how each individual’s condition or disability affects their daily life. Working mainly from home through a hybrid model, you’ll attend your local assessment centre on scheduled days as required. </p><p> You’ll produce detailed, evidence‑based reports <b>— typically 3,000–4,000 words —</b> that support the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in their decision-making. Throughout every assessment, you will apply your professional judgement with empathy, impartiality and confidence. Full, comprehensive training will equip you to deliver assessments and reports to the highest standard. </p><p></p><p><b><u> Training & Support </u></b></p><ul><li> Structured training programme running <b> Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm </b></li><li> Comprehensive preparation for assessments and report writing </li><li> Dedicated mentor throughout your first six months </li><li> Ongoing coaching, feedback and development support </li><li> A supportive team environment designed to help you grow and succeed </li></ul><p></p><p><b><u> Salary & Benefits </u></b></p><ul><li><b> Starting salary: £39,500</b> , increasing to <b>£40,500</b> upon DWP approval </li><li><b> Bonus scheme </b> available after approval, based on performance and quality </li><li> Clear, transparent <b> career progression pathways </b></li><li> Significantly enhanced <b> work–life balance </b> compared with traditional clinical roles </li></ul><p></p><p><b><u> What You’ll Need </u></b></p><ul><li> A <b> right to work in the UK </b> without a need for sponsorship, or any restrictions </li><li> Minimum <b> one year post‑registration experience </b> as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic </li><li><b> Full registration </b> with the NMC or HCPC with a valid, unrestricted PIN </li><li> Strong communication, listening and observational skills </li><li> Ability to type <b> at least 32 words per minute </b></li><li> Confident IT skills, including <b> Microsoft Office </b> and remote tools such as <b> MS Teams </b></li><li> A balanced, compassionate and professional approach to assessments </li></ul><p><b> Important Notice </b></p><p> UK clinical titles are legally protected.
