Job Description Technical Services Director / Engineering Director /n /n Travel & Hospitality Talent Hub are delighted to be working with a leading Travel, Leisure & Hospitality business to recruit an experienced Technical Services Director / Engineering Director for a senior leadership position. /n This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineering leader who can take ownership of a large and complex engineering, infrastructure, facilities and asset management portfolio, ensuring it remains safe, resilient, commercially effective and sustainable. /n We are looking for a strategic and commercially minded Engineering Director who can lead through people, influence at senior level and deliver long-term engineering and infrastructure strategies across a complex operational environment. /n /n The Role /n As Technical Services Director, you will provide strategic leadership across Engineering, Technical Services, Infrastructure, Maintenance, Facilities and Asset Management. /n You will be responsible for setting the long-term engineering strategy, ensuring statutory compliance, operational resilience, asset performance and investment priorities are aligned with wider business objectives. /n Working as part of the senior leadership team, the Technical Services Director will provide expert advice on engineering risk, capital investment, infrastructure strategy and operational performance. /n This is a high-profile leadership role requiring an experienced Engineering / Technical Services Director who can operate strategically while maintaining strong operational oversight. /n /n Key Responsibilities /n /n - Lead the strategic direction of Engineering, Technical Services, Infrastructure and Facilities. /n - Develop and implement long-term engineering and asset management strategies. /n - Provide senior-level advice on engineering risk, investment priorities and infrastructure requirements. /n - Lead engineering governance, statutory compliance and operational assurance. /n - Own significant operating and capital investment programmes. /n - Develop long-term asset management and capital planning strategies. /n - Lead major engineering transformation and infrastructure improvement programmes. /n - Ensure engineering assets deliver maximum safety, reliability, availability and commercial value. /n - Lead and develop a large, multi-disciplinary technical leadership team. /n - Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation and continuous improvement. /n - Oversee strategic supplier and contractor relationships, ensuring strong commercial and operational performance. /n - Manage outsourced facilities services and critical technical partnerships. /n - Drive innovation, digital transformation and the adoption of emerging technologies. /n - Lead engineering sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency, decarbonisation and resilience. /n - Ensure the organisation is prepared for major incidents and business-critical operational periods. /n - Work closely with senior stakeholders on business strategy, investment and long-term growth. /n - Ensure all engineering and technical activities meet relevant health, safety and statutory requirements. /n /n About You /n We are looking for an experienced Engineering Director, Technical Services Director, Head of Engineering or Technical Director with a proven track record of leading complex engineering operations. /n You will ideally have: /n /n - Significant senior leadership experience within Engineering, Technical Services, Facilities or Infrastructure. /n - Experience managing large and complex engineering operations. /n - Proven experience managing significant operating and capital expenditure budgets. /n - Strong knowledge of asset management, infrastructure and capital investment. /n - Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary technical teams. /n - Experience working within a complex, operationally demanding or safety-critical environment. /n - Strong knowledge of engineering compliance, statutory testing and health & safety legislation. /n - Experience managing major contractors, suppliers and strategic partnerships. /n - Proven experience delivering engineering transformation and organisational change. /n - Experience advising Executive or Board-level stakeholders. /n - Excellent commercial awareness and strategic decision-making skills. /n - Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder management abilities. /n - A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management or a related technical discipline. /n /n Desirable /n /n - Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartered status. /n - Experience within Travel, Leisure, Hospitality, , Hotels, Resorts or other complex customer-facing environments. /n - Experience managing large estates, heritage assets or complex infrastructure. /n -
